NLA Partnered NCC urges for Virtual School Library




Nigerian Library Association, NLA, boss has urge NCC to provide Virtual School libraries. The statement was made during an extended visit by NLA to the Nigeria Communication Commission office in Abuja.

Celtus Jaja, the chairman of NLA tells the commission, on his opening remark that there is a need for Virtual School Libraries in each local government in FCT. Jaja talks on a six model Virtual School Libraries.

On the other hand, Aliyu Ibrahim, the Deputy director, Policy Competition and Economy Analysis Department, stated that NCC has done several projects in the country. He sited that the Commission had upgraded 74 Libraries to E-Libraries or Information Resource Centres.

And that the Commission had also sponsored Librarians through collaboration with Librarians Registration Council of Nigerians, LRCN. NCC has also every year provided ICT books to six tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The books is spread across the six geographical zones.
