FCMB and Passion Incubator to Host Qualified Startups on Tech Pitch Perfect

First City Monument Bank, FCMB and Passion Incubator had partnered to host an event it named FCMB Tech Pitch Perfect to host qualified startups for a two consecutive rounds. FCMB is interested in Startups who have ideas or products on financial technology. At the end of the first pitch, the bank will select a number of startups from the first round to the second pitch.

FCMB is specifically looking for startups with either idea, prototype, or a complete innovation of fintech product that relates to e-Payment/e-Collection or e-Savings. The company claims that, its seeking to solve its customers challenges base on what the pitching startups brought to its table. For the e-Payment/e-Collection innovation, FCMB wants startups with solutions that allows customers 2 Business, C2B, firms to collect payments without stress. Some of the categories are Restaurants, Associations/Clubs, Schools Hospitals and Churches.

For the e-Savings, the bank is expecting solutions to encourage savings and investment. With regards to this, there are three top startups that have already scratch more than the surface to provide electronic savings solutions in Nigeria--Paylater, PiggyVest and CowryWise.

The program will be hosted and implemented by a well known co-working space in Nigeria, Passion Incubator. The early-stage incubator who announced the partnership with FCMB, today, said it's calling on technology startups in Nigeria with the potential of providing the above solutions to apply.

The application period will end on 8th of April, 2019. At the end of which 21 startups will be chosen and invited to Tech Pitch Perfect for the first round of pitching. At the end of the first round three startups will be selected for the final rounds. The three startup will pitch their products with a panel of judges who decide two winners. One winner for the e-Payments and e-Collections solutions and the other for the e-Savings challenges.

The two startups will be awarded with a million Niara and a shared working Access with HubOne, a co-working space established by FCMB and Leadspace.
